Overview of the Achievement System

Click the Button features fifteen Steam achievements, all of which are tracked automatically and awarded without any additional action required from the player. Achievements unlock through natural play progression, though understanding the specific conditions for each one can help you plan your sessions to maximise efficiency.

The achievements fall into three broad categories: collection milestones, progress milestones, and skill milestones. Each category has its own optimal unlock strategy, and some achievements are gated behind long-term collection goals while others are achievable within your first few hours of play.

Collection Achievements

Several achievements track your item collection progress. These are among the most time-intensive achievements because they require you to find specific items or complete tier sets, both of which depend on chest drops that cannot be rushed.

Just the Beginning! is the first collection achievement most players unlock. It is awarded for collecting your first item — a milestone you will hit within seconds of starting the game. Every player who opens a chest will have this achievement within their first click.

Getting the Hang of It! rewards players who have collected twenty-five items. At typical clicking speeds this is achievable within the first thirty minutes to an hour of play. It serves as an early checkpoint confirming that you understand how the chest system works.

Broken Collection, Nice Collection, Expensive Collection, Robust Collection, Nocturnal Collection, and Extraterrestrial Collection are awarded for completing all items in each rarity tier respectively. These achievements are sequential in difficulty — Broken Collection is the easiest and Extraterrestrial Collection is the hardest. The Nocturnal and Extraterrestrial tier achievements in particular require significant play time because those items are extraordinarily rare.

Hands on Fire! is awarded for collecting one hundred items. This is a natural milestone that most players will hit within their first few sessions without specifically grinding for it.

They’re So Cute! is awarded for collecting fifty items from the Nice tier or above. This is distinct from the total count achievement because it specifically tracks mid-tier items. Players focusing on collection completion will find this unlocks naturally as they work toward Nice Collection.

Progress Achievements

These achievements track your economic and clicking progress through specific numerical milestones.

Broken Collection (the first tier achievement) unlocks when you have collected every Broken-tier item. This is the most accessible tier collection and most dedicated players will complete it within their first five to ten hours.

The progress achievements do not have specific documented thresholds in the games data, but player reports confirm that milestones such as reaching 1 million total money earned and accumulating 10,000 total clicks trigger specific achievements. These are designed to reward consistent play and unlock naturally as you progress.

Skill Achievements

Some achievements track skill-related milestones, such as unlocking your first skill, maxing a specific skill branch, or purchasing a certain number of skills. The exact conditions for these achievements are not publicly documented by the developer, but they unlock through normal skill progression.

To work toward skill achievements, focus on the Skill Tree guide to understand which skill branches are available and plan your skill point allocation to unlock multiple achievements in sequence rather than scattered across different branches.

Achievement Efficiency Tips

While achievements cannot be rushed, you can optimise your play to avoid wasting time on achievements you have already effectively completed. The Steam achievement overlay shows your progress on each achievement, including percentage complete for incremental milestones. Check this overlay periodically to see whether you are close to a threshold you might be unknowingly approaching.

For collection achievements, prioritise completing tier sets in order. Each completed tier removes its items from the drop pool and concentrates future drops on remaining tiers, which simultaneously works toward the next tier collection achievement while making every chest more likely to give you progress toward another goal.

For progress achievements, keep a rough mental model of your total clicks and total money earned. If you are approaching a round number milestone, consider playing an active session with sustained clicking rather than leaving the game idle, because active clicking will push you past the threshold faster than passive income.

Achievements and the Demo Version

The Demo version supports the full achievement system, but some achievements that require endgame-level progression are not achievable in the Demo due to its play-time cap. If you are pursuing a specific achievement that seems stuck at a low percentage, check whether it is one of the achievements gated behind Demo limitations.
