What the Demo Includes

The Click the Button Demo is a free download on Steam that gives you access to the first portion of the game. It uses the same core mechanics as the full version — clicking, chests, items, upgrades, and skills — but imposes a play session limit that prevents you from reaching the games full progression depth.

The Demo allows approximately five to ten hours of play before the session limit is reached, depending on how actively you are clicking. At that point, the game displays a message suggesting you purchase the full version to continue. Your save file is preserved, but further progress in the Demo is blocked.

What the Full Version Adds

The full version removes the play session limit, allowing unlimited progression. Beyond that fundamental difference, the full version includes:

Full item pool access: The Demo uses a reduced item pool that excludes some of the highest-tier items. The full version has the complete collection of over one hundred unique items across all six rarity tiers.

Full skill tree access: All skills are available in the Demo, but some of the most impactful late-game skills are gated behind progression milestones that are not reachable within the Demo session limit.

Full achievement support: All fifteen Steam achievements are available in the Demo, but achievements that require late-game progression are effectively locked behind the session limit.

What Does Not Carry Over

The Demo and full version share the same save file format and location. However, Demo progress does not automatically carry over to a new full version install. If you install the full version on a machine where you have played the Demo, your Demo save file will be accessible to the full version and your progress will carry over.

If you purchase the full version on a different machine or after deleting your local save file, your Demo progress will not be available. There is no cloud save or account linking system to transfer progress between machines.

Is the Upgrade Worth It

For players who enjoyed their Demo session and want to continue progressing, the upgrade is straightforwardly worth it. The full version is a one-time purchase with no further microtransactions, and the complete game is a polished, complete experience.

For players who found the Demo boring or too simple, the full version is unlikely to change their opinion. The Demo accurately represents the core loop of the game. If that loop did not hook you in the Demo, additional play time will not make it better.

For players who are on the fence, the best strategy is to get the most out of your Demo session before deciding. Pay attention to whether you are still enjoying the progression after three or four hours of play. If you are, the upgrade is almost certainly worth it. If you are already losing interest at that point, save your money.
